McLaren in Miami attracts the driver who already knows what a 720S is. The badge has less casual recognition than Ferrari or Lamborghini, which is sometimes the point. These are the cars rented by people who picked them on purpose, not for the valet line photo. The 720S, 765LT, and McLaren GT are all in our Miami fleet, and they each cover a different version of the same idea: race-engineered, lightweight, driver-first.

A 720S runs a 4.0 twin-turbo V8 making 710 hp at the crank and weighs almost 300 pounds less than the Ferrari it competes with. That weight gap is the whole story. On a Florida back road or a freeway pull, the 720S feels lighter on its feet than any other car in this price range, including the Lamborghinis. Brake feel is better than the Italians and the gearbox shifts faster. The 765LT is the same car turned up.

Honest about being a race car. Carbon tub you have to climb over, dihedral doors that need clearance to open in a tight valet line, instrument cluster that drops away in Track mode so the head-up display does the work. The seats are leather over carbon-fiber shells, fixed-back on the LT, which is a good thing or a problem depending on your back. Storage is minimal. The GT softens all of this for clients who want McLaren engineering with a usable trunk.

Aerodynamics that actually work. The 720S has no rear wing because it doesn't need one, the front splitter and rear diffuser do most of the downforce work, and the headlights are sized to feed the engine through the side intakes. The dihedral doors are the photo. Papaya orange is the McLaren signature, but our Miami fleet runs more in white, silver, and cream because they hold up better in the salt air and look cleaner under sunset light.

McLarens are the lowest-availability brand in the fleet. We keep fewer cars than Ferrari or Lamborghini because demand runs steadier rather than peaking, and the maintenance schedule is more involved. Book the 720S a week ahead, the 765LT two weeks ahead.
